Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Fiji International (European Tour Package)
I am not sure what to think about the Fiji International this week for DFS purposes. The field is probably the thinnest I have ever seen an event that we can play DFS for. I would say 99% of the people playing European DFS this week will not have heard of most of the field. On the one hand, I feel like we should not be playing much at all this week, because we are not as confident as usual in knowing how most of the field will perform having never actually seen them play golf. On the other hand, I know that we have easily the best research tools absolutely anywhere for all DFS golf, including the European Tour. Very few folks outside of FGI will have as much information on this field as we do. So, does that give us an even bigger edge than normal with a field this weak. I wish I could give you a definitive answer. I will be relying a ton on the FGI tools this week to help build my rosters, including the FGI Euro Model and Odds vs. Pricing Tool. The recent form portion of our tournament history page will not reflect the results of many golfers in the field because most of them play on much lesser tours throughout the world week in and week out. A great resource to find results for guys in this field is the world golf rankings website, where they track every single tour around the world.
I would put the majority of your money for European golf into cash games this week. This is opposite of what Pari said he will be doing in his European Tour Preview. I think we can do well in GPPs as well, I just think there is a wonderful opportunity to beat less informed DFS players and build our bankroll. Do 2-3 teams like we do in PGA (not owning the same guy on all teams) and enter them equally into cash games (50/50s and double ups). This is a GPP column and I am more of a GPP mind, but more than that, this column is committed to trying to make you money, so that is what I think we do this week. If you want to take a couple shots in GPPs, please feel free, I just think this is more of a bankroll building week on the Euro side, especially since the prize pools in GPPs are not terribly exciting anyway. Best of luck this week my friends!
