Jeff’s Hardcore Core- British Masters (European Tour Package)

No PGA event this week so the focus shifts on the European Tour this week for DFS purposes.  If this is your first time playing Euro Tour DFS, let me just fill you in.  The cutline is less (only Top 65 and ties) as opposed to the PGA Tour (Top 70 and ties).   If you think the PGA is volatile, you have not seen anything yet.  Last week was a solid week for the core having identified the champion, Lucas Bjerregaard ($8,300) along with Wu (T7), Elvira (T7), Li (T25), and Scrivener (T29).  However, some of the guys I felt most confident in underperformed their price and some flat out laid an egg.  Guys like Ryan Fox who has been really solid the last couple months, Thornbjorn Olesen made the cut and ended T34, but not nearly what his salary demanded, and Haydn Porteous missing the cut.  All of these were very surprising results and also very unpredictable results, but not uncommon on the Euro Tour.

This weeks event will fill the void of the PGA and even more so with the loaded field it offers, including Rory McIIroy and Sergio Garcia among others.  Since this is the first year The British Masters is being held at Close House Golf Club, we do not have tournament history to help our research, but I believe our tools are far and away the best in the industry. I would recommend using the FGI Euro Model, Odds vs Pricing, and Current Form Chart to assist you in your research.  If you are looking to build a core for GPPs like I do, be sure to utilize our Lineup Builder.

I normally do not play much in cash games on the European Tour, because of the volatility, but this week I will be. The first reason is I will be doing so is without a PGA event, we are going to have more people trying to get their DFS Golf fix who might not have the knowledge of these players that we do, giving us an edge. I also really like the value that we have identified in the middle tier pricing of players, allowing us to build really strong lineups and hopefully reduce some of that volatility.
