A reminder that the ShotLink data comes from only one round heading into the weekend – taken from the South course, which is what will be played which helps at least – and that scoring on the North course played around three shots easier so take great North performances with a grain of salt.

Weather consideration: It’s not a perfect weekend, but it’s not awful and shouldn’t impact play – it’ll be foggy and cold (50s), but there’s no chance of rain on either day. Golfers going off in the earlier rounds will have fog-softened greens (which is rain-softened’s much-less-impactful younger brother) so greens should be a touch more receptive but nothing outrageous; this will be the case on both Saturday and Sunday.

Winds will be steady in the 6mph-12mph range both days, including gusts, so not much out of the ordinary or anything to be concerned about.
