The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings.  Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring.  Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.

This is a slight change to the regular Weekend Golf article format, feel free to reach out if there’s something you’d like included/brought back.

Thursday/Friday recap

The biggest news of the first two days was probably the Hideki Matsuyama WD with a shoulder injury – there will be no back-to-back-to-back for DekiBOT, unfortunately. The other big news would be Jordan Spieth missing his putting stroke yet again, and the strong play of some players previously written off as contenders in Daniel Berger, Bubba Watson, and Bill Haas (although his Friday was bad).

The leaderboard was packed very tightly through Thursday and the first half of Friday, and the win is realistically within grasp of most players that made the cut. With 74 sitting at -1 or better, there’s only a nine-stroke difference between first and DFL as far as the weekend is concerned. Expect the weekend to play a touch tougher than Friday, as the pin positions were fairly gettable at most holes (specifically the 17th), but eagles will still be available on the par-5s.

Notable missed cuts: Hideki Matsuyama (WD), JJ Spaun (WD), Jordan Spieth, Webb Simpson, JB Holmes, Bud Cauley, Russell Henley, Ryan Moore.
