Weekend Warriors – US Open

The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings.  Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring.  Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.

Unless DraftKings brings back weekend golf – please let them know if you’re unhappy – all prices listed for full weekend will be FanDuel. The Saturday names to consider are all DraftKings pricing.

The weekend

Weather consideration:  The weather over Saturday and most of Sunday will be similar to that of Thursday and Friday: mostly clear skies, not excessively hot (definitely less humid than Friday), and no rain expected. As a warning, there was no rain expected on Friday, and yet it came anyway.

Wind-wise, Saturday morning will be the most timid of the next two days, with the speed around 8mph and gusts of 10-14mph. That will pick up into Saturday afternoon and evening, so the earlier starts on Saturday will get a small advantage there but I’d expect it to be rather minimal. Sunday is about the same, but it gets much rougher in the afternoon and evening with gusts closer to what was seen on Thursday (20+ mph). There isn’t much you can do about that though, as ideally your players are teeing off later on Sunday.
