Weekend Warriors – St. Jude Classic
The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings. Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring. Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.
Unless DraftKings brings back weekend golf – please let them know if you’re unhappy – all prices listed for full weekend will be FanDuel. The Saturday names to consider are all DraftKings pricing.
The weekend
Notable missed cuts (E was the line): Scott Piercy (WD), Kevin Chappell, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Kevin Tway, Abraham Ancer, Joel Dahmen, Tony Finau, Daniel Berger, Benny An, Joaquin Niemann. “Notable” doesn’t really apply this week, given the overall names in the field – a good bit of chalk missed the cut though.
Weather consideration: The winds won’t be up this weekend, with sustained wind at just 6-12mph, which is just a smidgen over where it was on Thursday and Friday. There’s currently a 20% chance of thunderstorms on both Saturday and Sunday, but it won’t give any particular advantage one way or the other.
The weather will be extremely hot and humid, given that it’s Tennessee in June, with highs in the 90s not including the humidex. Expect the balls to go (ever so) slightly farther than an average day.
PLEASE NOTE: I have written up weather concerns in the past, just to see the Tour play split tees. They may yet do that, which would give nobody any distinct advantage.
MDF consideration: Thankfully none! Feel free to take shots at the back end of the pack if you so desire.
