Weekend Warriors – Houston Open
The weekend
Weather consideration: The course should be softened up with all the rain the course saw on Friday, and there currently is a small (20%) chance of more showers on Saturday morning – although not enough to delay play thankfully. Sunday will have a 10% chance of rain, but there shouldn’t be much impact from the rain, outside of Saturday morning into afternoon being soft and receptive.
Winds will be more of a factor than rain, but only on Saturday morning. The gusts will be in the 15+ range Saturday morning but taper off in the afternoon, and Sunday maxes out around 8mph which isn’t enough to be impactful.
Other consideration: With play suspended due to weather in the morning and then darkness in the evening, the cut line is still very much in question – it’s currently E at T65, but it’s probably for the best to avoid anyone at -1 who’s still on the course as well as anyone at E or below (unless you can be at your CPU/phone to react quickly before lock, assuming it gets pushed back).
