The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings.  Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring.  Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.

This is a slight change to the regular Weekend Golf article format, feel free to reach out if there’s something you’d like included/brought back.

Thursday/Friday recap

It was a slightly unexpected start to the tournament, with Thursday scoring on both the North and South being closer to equal than ever before: 71.308 on the North and 71.615 on the South. With benign weather conditions and very firm greens on the North, it wasn’t the typical birdie-fest relative to the South, with Tony Finau being the guy that really ripped the course apart with a -7.

Friday was a little closer to what’s expected between the North/South, with the North scoring average sitting at 71.513 and the South 72.667. There were only 27 rounds below par at SC compared to 41 on the first day, and 38 rounds were over par after 23 on the first day.

Gary Woodland had a big-time Friday push to make the cut, coming on the “tougher” South course. The elites continued to show why they’re elite: Jon Rahm, Jason Day, Phil Mickelson, and Justin Rose all had pretty big days (combined total of 20 under par), and DFS darling Luke List put himself into contention with a -6 at South (more on List below). Ryan Palmer led the way with a -5 at NC to step into the weekend as the solo leader. Most importantly, TIGER WOODS made the cut with a birdie on the last to make it through on the number.

Notable missed cuts: Ollie Schniederjans, Shane Lowry, Jhonattan Vegas, Rickie Fowler, Brian Harman.
