Weather consideration: Friday night will see a smattering of rain (about half an inch) which could soften the course up, which means that Saturday morning group will have the most receptive greens although they won’t get any added roll in the fairway so carry distance from that group will be important. The course should harden up by midday with weather in the mid-80s, and wind will be negligible on Saturday.

It’s Sunday that presents the big issue, as it’ll be hot and extremely windy – gusts will be in the 30-35mph range in the morning (8am-noon) with sustained winds in the 14-18mph range. It calms down slightly in the afternoon but sustained winds will be the same, with gusts in the 20-25mph range. There’s a real advantage to the late tee times, so Showdown slates should stack the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, and weekend players should stay away from golfers more than five strokes back heading into Saturday.
