Weekend Warriors – AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings.  Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring.  Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.

Unless DraftKings brings back weekend golf – please let them know if you’re unhappy – all prices listed for full weekend will be FanDuel. The Saturday names to consider are all DraftKings pricing.

The weekend

Notable missed cuts: None – the cut comes after Saturday.

Weather consideration: Wind will be up in Saturday afternoon, into the 10-15mph range, but that’s fairly quiet relative to what golfers saw on Friday. There’s rain expected, but nothing during the hours of play; the courses should all be wet in the morning, which means longer hitters have a natural advantage as the ball won’t roll out through the fairways.

Sunday will be the real test, as the wind will see sustained highs of 10-16mph, but gusts in the 20+ mph range for most golfers; the earliest tee times on Sunday morning get the worst of the winds, as the 7am slot looks to have sustained wind of 22mph and gusts of 25+ mph. The course will also be wet, as rain is expected Saturday night into Sunday morning, but again there’s no rain expected during the hours of play.

MDF consideration:  Too early to tell. Golfers sitting near the cut line (currently -2) are a risky proposition given the chance of missing out on 50% of the weekend, but should also offer tremendous upside from an ownership perspective. REMINDER: the cut is top-60 and ties, not top-70, since this event is a pro-am.
