Weekend Warriors – AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am Weekend Golf Preview by Adam Daly
The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings. Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring. Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.
This is a slight change to the regular Weekend Golf article format, feel free to reach out if there’s something you’d like included/brought back.
Thursday/Friday recap
With relatively calm weather on Thursday and Friday, this event has turned into a birdie-fest. Dustin Johnson (expected) and Beau Hossler (unexpected) are the co-leaders at -12, and the bulk of the scoring has come at Monterrey Peninsula – also expected. It’s important to keep that in mind heading into weekend golf, that the players that shot -5 or better at MP will have a tougher time ahead of them.
Some of the players that really took advantage of playing MP were Jason Day, DJ, Patrick Rodgers, and Jordan Spieth.
With the cut looking to be in the range of -4 (weather dependant), some notables at -2 or worse: Gary Woodland, Brandt Snedeker, Kevin Chappell, Chris Kirk, Russell Knox, Chesson Hadley, Rory McIlroy.
Notable missed cuts: N/A
