The weekend

Weather consideration: Absolute carnage at the course today thanks to the wind, so make sure to pay more attention to weather than most weeks, with the wind being the biggest factor. Both days will be mostly sunny with temps in the 60s, and there’s a small chance of brief showers Sunday morning but nothing that would affect play.

Saturday will have sustained wind in the 12-15mph range for the entire day, but the early morning (7-11am) will have the highest gusts (20-25mph) with the middle of the day calming down quite a bit (15mph gusts). The wind picks back up later in the evening, around 5pm, which will be a difference-maker given how much carnage the 17th and 18th have caused already. Picking the later tee times is still the optimal strategy for R3 Showdowns.

Sunday winds are relatively calm in the early morning (9-15mph) but will gust up to 25mph. That might be the worst time of day because the change from the sustained to gusts will be more pronounced and harder to plan for. The only calm part of the day is late (past 4pm), so you’d want the latest tee times possible on Sunday.
