The First Tee – Honda Classic by Jason Rouslin

Back on the east coast finally for both me and the Tour, as it starts its Florida Swing. There are few better places to be in the USA in late Feb early March then Florida. Things like Spring Training, the amazing weather, Disney World, and of course the golf, make it a very popular destination. The influx of people make for great attendance numbers, which always translates into strong fields, and good prize pools for the golfers and DFS!

Players: Top 5 Guys and a Pick to Click this Week.

Last Week’s Result: 2^nd, 4^th, were my top scores. Only 1 missed cut.   

• Russell Knox ($9,000)- I expect him to be the top owned guy this week at this price. He’s 3/3 here including 2 top 5’s. He’s coming off a MC at the WMO so if anything, that’ll be the only thing that holds his ownership down. I love him to compete for the W this weekend.
• Daniel Berger ($8,900)- Coming off a 7^th place finish at the WMO, Berger, comes to PGA National where he has found success in the past placing second in 2015. He also missed the cut last year, so buyer beware, but still, I like his upside.
• Charles Howell III ($7,800) Well, Howell continued his great play this season earning another top 15 – his 4^th straight this season. He’s 6/7 here with his best finishing being 10^th, but with where his game is right now, I think this is a very good play.
• Graeme McDowell ($7,300)- His game seems to be starting off this year a lot better than last as he’s on a 3 made cut streak. Besides his blowup round of 77 on Sunday, he played rather well, and in the other 2 starts also played well finishing 13^th and 28^th. Mix that in with a 6/7 record here including 4 top 10’s, at 7300 he presents great value.
• Padriag Harrington ($6,700)- Wow, I can’t believe he’s making this list. But listen he won here in 2015, so you never know when he could pop, and he’s coming off a nice week at Riviera, so for 6700 I’m going to give it a go. Good luck.

Pick to Click: 4 Guys above 10k this Week.

• I like all guys here again! I won’t be fading any. All of them placed inside the top 6 last year here. FTW I’m going to go with Adam Scott ($12,200) as my put a gun to my head pick.

Fades:

Last Week’s Results: Bubba MC’d, and naturally Laird was a top 10… what a surprise.  

• Graham Deleat- $7,400 2/5 here and a tad bit overpriced. I’ll be avoiding.
• Zach Johnson- $9,700 one might thing that ZJ would do well on a “shorter hitters” course, but he hasn’t. Only 1/3 and the one being a 33^rd Way too much for me to pay for him.

Names to know, or I had to look up-

• Fredrik Jacobson ($7,000)- Freddy makes his return to the Tour this week after taking the last 5 months off (at least on the PGA circuit). Let’s keep an eye on him for now.
• Alan the CPA Morin ($6,600)- Making his 5^th, yup, 5^th start here at the Honda Classic, Morin has not yet made the cut. He’s the Assistant Pro at The Falls Country Club in Lake Worth, or was, and earned his qualification through locally qualifying. Good luck Alan.
