The First Tee – Arnold Palmer Invitational by Jason Rouslin

The King has returned.  If not physically, emotionally for at least a week. An enormous figure in the world, let alone the game of golf, Arnie was truly a wonderful man. I’m beyond excited for the field we have this week, but wish, as I do every week, that Tiger and Jordan and the rest of the top golfers would play.
After a week where Tuesday practice rounds was the best narrative I have seen all year, where my top thoughts were Hadwin and Cantlay. Crazy that it came down to the 72nd hole with those two guys. I know a FGI-subscriber was able to take down the birdie with some of that info and some other great finishes as well.

Players: Top 5 Guys and a Pick to Click this Week

Last Week’s Result: The results will speak for the rest-1^st, 2^nd,6^th, 7^th, 41^st, 65^th, MC

• Justin Rose ($9,500) Rose loves playing here at Bay Hill. This will be his 11^th appearance overall, and in his previous 10 starts 5 top 10’s. He’s also playing pretty well with two top 5’s in his last 4 starts.
• Francesco Molinairi ($8,600) Molinari is one of the most consistent and reliable golfers out there. He did have a MC a couple weeks back but overall is 4/5 with all 4 inside the top 20. As far as his performance here goes. He’s 4/4 with 3 inside the top 20.
• Tony Finau ($7,600) At this point the guy deserves to be on the list. He’s shown that he can play anywhere and put himself into position for great finishes. I would consider the rough length this week as that’s where Tony seems to get into trouble on Bermuda grass. He’s 1/2 here so not much to go on as far as CH goes.
• Wesley Bryan ($7,100) Ok he tweeted out a picture of him and his wife at Disney World today. My kind of guy right there. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that he has 3 straight top 10s. Yup. What a streak, can we make it 4? Obviously, no CH but I like Wes’s game, and what the excitement he brings to golf in general.
• Ian Poulter ($6,800) Playing for his status, Poultergeist has made 6 straight cuts here in Orlando with 5 inside the top 25. The narrative play, mixed with  4/4 cuts in his last 4, has me liking this spikey haired Englishman this week.

Pick to Click: 5 Guys above 10k this Week.

• Back to Stenson’s Well? Yea, back to the Stenson’s Well this week as my number 1 pick, although I like all four as well.

Fades:

Last Week’s Results: Both fades worked well last week again I called for Ohair and Watson.

• Laird- Probably means play him.
• Watson- Stays on this list until he makes a cut at least.

Names to know, or I had to look up- ICYMI- Because I think I deserve a little bit of gusto for this pick, I nailed the Patrick Cantlay selection last week and put my money behind it so be sure not to overlook this section as finding a player who takes off and is owned by less than 1% of the field can make for a huge GPP week.

• Robby Shelton ($7,100) Making the cut at the Sanderson in his only start this year, Shelton is a highly-touted rookie. Let’s keep an on eye on this one as he may be our next Cantlay.
• Mattais Schwab ($6,500) A promising young talent from Vanderbilt where he will earn his degree later this year. After that we could see a healthy dose of him in the late early summer/ late summer on both the web.com and PGA tour.
