The First Tee – 2016 Review
With a new year just around the corner, I’d like to reflect on just about every facet of my life so as I think it’s so important for continued growth and success. I hope that all of you have found my article helpful at some point this year, whether it was the pro reviews and lineup construction, or a few good picks here and there, my goal is to provide useful and helpful information that in turn helps you earn a profit.
Yearly Roundup – Useful DFS Data
Looking at prior results is the only way we can try and better prepare ourselves for what’s coming in the future. If you’re new to the game, or a veteran, you must know how important it is to get 6/6 golfers in the larger GPP Contests. i.e. the $33 Dogleg and more specifically the $3 Birdie and $4 Fore. In this recap I will provide some very useful data including the aforementioned ‘Cut’ data.
Percentage of DFS’ers that had 6/6 players through the cut:
- Average: 14% *Note taking since June Tournaments.
- High- 40% Quicken Loan Nationals
- Low- 4% Safeway Open
Golfer’s Winner Data:
- Average Salary: $9,200
- Golfer Salary > 10,000 Wins: 19
- Golf Salary <>7,000-10,000 Wins: 18
- Golfer Salary <7000 Wins: 8
DraftKing Pro Results:
We know it’s vitally important to keep an eye on what the ‘pros’ are doing. I will highlight the year for some of our most frequent users, and provide a bit of data on them.
The Pro Review: Questions I get most often
How many golfer does each pro use?
It really varies on the pro, but the average seems to be right around 40 golfers for a full field event. *120 + Golfers.
What is the high ownership % used for a golfer?
The average high ownership comes in right around 65%.
*These statistics are taken from pros that normally max enter the GPP contests.
The Pros:
JAE686- 6 wins for Jason in his 2016-2017 campaign. He takes down the crown as Player of the Year.

Tournament of Champions First Look
With the NFL regular season ending Sunday, and contest sizes coming down, players will have no better place to look than golf. Most of you already know this, but for the new readers out there, DFS Golf provides a great ride on Sunday’s, some even think it’s better than football. The new year kicks off as its done for the past 6 seasons on the beautiful island of Maui.
Brandt Snedeker- $8,700 This will be his fourth trip to the island of Maui. He’s placed third, tenth, and third in his 3 other attempts. Good value for a guy with upside.
Fabian Gomez- $6,500 Placed 6th here last year, then went on to win the Sony Open the very next week, so the Islands of Hawaii seem to strike a cord with Gomez. Look for him to jumpstart his 2017 season in similar fashion to last year.
