The Daily Spin – DraftKings Preview – Genesis Invitational

Welcome to one of my favorite weeks of the season for the Genesis Invitational. We get a great course with a loaded field and it feels like we are really into the countdown to the Masters now with only seven weeks to go until we are back at Augusta.

I want to take a minute to thank everyone for all the kind words last week after I was recognized as the Fantasy Sports Writers Association (FSWA)’s Golf Writer of the Year. After doing this for last six plus years, it was really incredible to be honored by the industry with this award. Back when we started, there were only a handful of folks in our industry providing any sort of coverage and it has been a wild ride to see how much things have grown since then. There are so many tremendously talented people that work in our business and we’ve been really fortunate to get to know many of them on our journey.

However, I could not do this every week if it was not for all of the awesome people that are a part of our community now or have been a part of the FGI family at some point over the years. There are a lot of Tuesday nights/Wednesday mornings where I feel like my energy is sapped or that some events are not exactly my favorite to write about, but I know that the time I put in will be worth it every time I read an encouraging e-mail, tweet or message in Slack. It feels really great to be able to provide something fun for people that helps to take their minds off of a lot of the day to day stuff in our lives and in this crazy world. When we started this business back in 2014, I never imagined all of the amazing friendships that would come from being in this business. The community that we’ve created together is something that I am incredibly proud of so I want to thank each and every one of you for your part in that and in helping to keep me motivated year after year to provide the best content that I am capable of producing.
