Most of the talk takes place in the #current-pga-event room during the week so if you’ve only been in the general room and wondering where everyone is at, click on ‘Channels’ on the left side of the screen and that should bring up the list of available channels to join. Stat Boy has been on fire all year with his MMA picks so be sure to stop by each Saturday to check out his work. It’s just one more free perk that we offer to add value to your subscription throughout the year.

Guys, if you have not jumped into our MMA chat, you are seriously missing out. Stat Boy has been delivering for us in a huge way since the return of MMA this spring. The approach is very simple and EASY to implement. All you need to do is check in each Saturday afternoon and we’ll guide you the rest of the way. I’m not going to say that it is free money, but it’s been very profitable for me personally over the last 6 months.

Also, our NFL website (Football Insider Edge) is up and running again for the 2020 season and all FGI subscribers are eligible for a discount!! Whether you are looking for DFS advice for GPP contests, cash games, showdown slates or even just make a few bets, we have it all over there and at a far better price than our competitors and you are going to get a fantastic product. All you need to do to take advantage of our offer is to send me an e-mail today at: zach@fantasygolfinsider.com

So far, the cash games are going pretty well for me with NFL and I am personally 3-2 so far this season. If you enjoy my cash game articles here, you will appreciate the work that I put into my column for FIE as well.

Also, if you guy enjoy the podcast each week, please help us out with a review. It would mean so much if you could take a few minutes to write us a positive review and share the show with others. In such a crowded industry, every little bit helps so a bunch of 5 star ratings and a few reviews would be great to see to end our week. Just take one second before you dig into the column for the week and once your review posts, e-mail me the name you left your review under, and I’ll give away some cool merchandise just for helping us out.

We had three great new reviews last week and are so appreciative of the time it took to write a few kind words!

RECAP

Some weeks, I tell myself I hate tougher scoring courses where there are not a lot of birdies to be found. It gets frustrating to see your golfers making bogeys all day and unable to make up any ground. I usually like to see some scoring and I like to see a lot of players have a chance to make a run even if they are a few shots back. Of course, last week was the other extreme. I cannot remember another event where the two day cut got all the way to -7. If you had told me at the beginning of the week that all of my cash game golfers would be at least -5 by the end of the second round, I would have started to count my winnings early.

However, last week proved again to be a weird one for me. I had originally intended to use Tony Finau up top until he withdrew and then settled on Hideki and Morikawa as my top two players. For the second week in a row, my two most expensive golfers missed the cut while my value players shined. Hideki was -6 through nine holes on Friday, but somehow shot +1 the rest of the way. He managed to go into the water on the Par 5, 16th hole for an ugly bogey, misplayed a hole around the green for bogey on the back nine and then could not make birdie on the easy Par 5, 9th hole. It was a brutal display as his tee to green game terrible which was awful since his putting was fantastic, a rarity for Hideki.

Collin Morikawa, who lives in Vegas, also missed the cut. It was his third missed cut in five starts after only having missed one cut over the previous two seasons. He as hitting the ball well, but lost over 3 strokes putting over the first two rounds. He was much better on Friday in the second round, but missed a four foot birdie putt on the 16th hole to miss the cut by one stroke which was the crippling blow for my cash game team for the week. The other missed cut that I endured was from Kristoffer Ventura. Ventura had been on a tear over the previous couple of months and he did not play badly last week, his tee to green was off, particularly his iron play on Friday.

I did manage to get three golfers through to the weekend on my cash roster with Adam Schenk again coming through as a sub 7k value play. Cam Davis made the cut, though was underwhelming over the weekend. Denny McCarthy also made a heroic charge to make the cut on Friday, knocking in a 26 foot birdie putt on the 18th hole which I know saved a few of you in cash games.

For the week, I ended up down in cash games, but managed to make a profit in GPP play. I managed to get 15 of my top 21 picks through the cut and had great performances from the likes of Matthew Wolff, Bryson, Louis Oosthuizen, Will Zalatoris, Zach Johnson, Joaquin Niemann, Brian Harman, HVIII, Si Woo Kim and Justin Suh. Jeff and I were neck and neck late in the mini max with teams that were around 20th place, but we needed Wolff to win out to move up. Having made outright bets on him as well, it was doubly disappointing to see him lose as I thought going into the playoff that he definitely felt like the favorite to win.
