The Daily Spin – DraftKings Daily Fantasy Golf Preview Weekend Edition – Greenbrier Classic
Gary Woodland had me worried early and often over the course of his first 27 holes this week. Fortunately, he settled down on the back nine on Friday, found three birdies on his last eight holes and cruised into the weekend. I feel good about where our picks are at heading into the weekend. We have plenty of players in the mix and for the most part, our most heavily weighted players are still live and many are in contention.
I looking at the weekend, we are fortunate this week in that there is no MDF coming for us tomorrow. That makes the strategy for the week so much easier than when we face the possibility of a Saturday cut. With some of the better names down at -1 this week right on the cut line, they are not in great shape, but still only one solid round away from getting into Top-10 contention. Regardless of how many of them end up, we have some solid scorers left that should make up ground and provide a lot of weekend points for us.
The weather for the weekend is a little tricky tomorrow. There is about a 50/50 chance of rain all day until 3pm with it being less likely as the day wears on. However, thunderstorms are also 50/50 starting at 11am with the chances of storms dropping off later in the day. Winds for the weekend do not look to be a significant factor for one wave or the other on either Saturday or Sunday. Since most of the players that we expect to make the biggest moves are teeing off early, the combination of no early storms and the odds of potential improvement have me again leaning towards the players who are first out of the gates for Saturday.
