Sedgefield Country Club is the regular host of the Wyndham Championship, the final event before the FedExCup Playoffs.   It is one of the easiest par 70 courses on the PGA TOUR that measures 7,127 yards in length.  Last year’s winner, Brandt Snedeker, set the course record for 18 holes and joined the 59 club after firing a 11-under 59 in the opening round.  The 2017 winner, Henrik Stenson, recorded a tournament record 22-under 258 and the 2016 winner, Si Woo Kim, also went low when he recorded a 21-under 259.  Simply put, this week will be a birdie-fest.  Big hitters typically take a flier on the Wyndham Championship, so it is no coincidence that the past leaderboards are filled with golfers primarily known for their driving accuracy.  An accurate approach game that sets up plenty scoring opportunities is also necessary in order to go well this week though.  Ultimately, it will be the golfers who sink the required number of putts threatening to win.  Finally, the current weather forecast for Greensboro, North Carolina calls for warm and muggy conditions with a decent chance of thunderstorms throughout the tournament that could suspend play.  Winds should not be much of a factor.
