After a late WD from The Open champion, Shane Lowry, a final field is set as 63 of the world’s best golfers will compete in the newly named World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, replacing the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone CC (South). They will take on the challenge of one of the most difficult par 70 courses on the PGA TOUR, TPC Southwind. Located in Memphis, Tennessee, TPC Southwind had been the host of the FedEx St. Jude Classic for over 30 consecutive years. This week it will measure up to 7,237 yards in length and reward golfers that can hit fairways and putt well on the Champion bermuda greens. Previous leaderboards of the FedEx St. Jude Classic show that golfers with a solid tee-to-green game will likely play well this week, but ones able to land the ball close to the pin will be the ones threatening to win. Finally, clear and sunny conditions are in the forecast for the tournament with wind not expected to be much of a factor.
