Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Before I breakdown the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the outstanding field that has gathered in Scottsdale, Arizona, be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  FanDuel gave the contest a nice bump from 75 total entries initially to 150 now so it is important that it fills.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI without putting too much at risk with your bankroll.  Furthermore, FanDuel has decent contest sizes this week and more than likely, this will be the final tournament to take advantage of any NFL DFS leftovers attempting to test their luck in PGA DFS.  Hopefully FanDuel PGA contests will continue to grow with the more interest though because frequent readers of this column know that I have a pretty decent track record when it comes to identifying a quality player pool over there that gives Team FGI a significant advantage over the competition.  This week should be no different for the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The Waste Management Phoenix Open is typically known as a birdie fest event, but in 2014 the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale went through a redesign which made the test a little more difficult.  It plays as a par 71 course now measuring at 7,266 yards.  In ideal golfing conditions, last year’s scoring average was the lowest since the course overhaul.  With a similar forecast is setting up this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, the winning score will probably be close to Hideki Matsuyama’s 17-under 267 a year ago.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the Waste Management Phoenix Open provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 30%
