Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI.  FanDuel also has decent prize pools for the U.S. Open so be sure to check out their contest lobby as well.

Shinnecock Hills Golf Club will host the 118th U.S. Open and this links-style golf course has gone through a Coore and Crenshaw renovation since the last time a U.S. Open was played here.   Located in Southampton, New York, Shinnecock Hills is a stock par 70 that now stretches 7,440 yards in length.  It will certainly reward the power hitters now that they have more room off of the tee.  Overall, the long hitters will likely play well this week, but the ones also capable of landing the ball close to the pin and equipped with a sharp short game, will be the ones threatening to win.  Shinnecock Hills is an absolute complete test of golf.  Finally, even the slightest amount of wind will affect scoring here.  The current forecast calls for manageable 10 mph winds Thursday morning, but they steadily increase throughout the day with potential gusts of 30 mph by the afternoon.  The winds Friday should be a steady 10 mph all day.  With that in view, Thursday PM tee time golfers could see the peak winds of the tournament.  Thus stacking Thursday AM tee time golfers deserves serious consideration when building your lineups this week.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Recent Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for Shinnecock Hills.  It also allows us to factor in Tournament History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the U.S. Open provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights:

                Recent Form: 35%

                Key Stats: 35%

                Vegas: 15%
