The Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut continues to be one of the more popular stops on the PGA TOUR even with its place on the schedule immediately following the U.S. Open.  Unlike U.S. Open courses where scoring is typically limited, TPC River Highlands is vulnerable to scoring.  In fact, Jim Furyk shot the only 58 in PGA TOUR history here back in 2016 during his final round.  As one of the shortest courses on the PGA TOUR, TPC River Highlands plays as a stock par 70 that measures just 6,841 yards in length.  Even though Bubba Watson has 25% of his PGA TOUR wins here, it allows for all different types of golfers to find success here and the more recent course changes have shown that the strategic golfers will likely play well this week.  Overall, golfers who keep their ball in play and set up accurate approach shots will likely be in the mix, but those who also get hot with their putter on the fast Poa grass will be the ones threatening to win.  20+ birdies are usually required to get the job done.
