Liberty National Golf Club is the host of THE NORTHERN TRUST this week which marks the third time that it has hosted this event.  When it last hosted in 2013, Adam Scott was victorious after shooting an 11-under 273.  This is a ball-striker’s par 71 course that measures 7,370 yards in length.  Keeping the ball in play on the fairways is crucial in order to go well here.  An accurate approach game that sets up scoring opportunities is also necessary in order to have a chance over the weekend.  Ultimately, it will come down to the golfers who have their tee-to-green game working and putting well.  They will be the ones threatening to win the first event of the FedExCup Playoffs come Sunday afternoon.  Finally, the current weather forecast for Jersey City, New Jersey calls for warm and dry conditions throughout the tournament.  Winds should stay calm and manageable as well.
