the Memorial Tournament Preview:

After a thrilling finish to the Workday Charity Open last week, the PGA TOUR remains in Dublin, Ohio for hopefully another exciting week.  Next up is the Memorial Tournament, or otherwise known as “Jack’s Tournament”.  Muirfield Village Golf Club will continue to serve as host of this limited-field invitational and once again play as a stock par 72 measuring 7,456 yards.  It should however play more difficult than it did for the Workday Charity Open as the rough will be longer and the green speeds back up to their regular 13 feet on the Stimpmeter.  There is plenty of landing space off the tee but hitting the greens will require much more precision.  Accurate iron play is rewarded at Muirfield Village Golf Club as it is typically described as a “second shot” golf course.  Overall, golfers with a solid tee-to-green game will likely play well this week, but ones able to land the ball close to the pin and putt well on the speedy greens will be the ones threatening to win.
