Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Before I breakdown the Honda Classic and the quality field that will tee it up in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  FanDuel continues to give the contest a nice bump from 75 total entries initially to 150 so it is important that it fills.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI without putting too much at risk with your bankroll.  Furthermore, FanDuel has been running decent contest sizes and hopefully they will continue to grow with more interest because frequent readers of this column know that I have a pretty decent track record of identifying quality player pools that gives Team FGI a significant advantage over the competition.  This week should be no different for the Honda Classic.

The Honda Classic opens up the Florida Swing and the PGA National Champion Course might look a little barer than usual because of Hurricane Irma knocking over a few trees back in September.  Winds will not be that strong this week but they typically play a factor here and could lead to a big score.  Overall, the PGA National Champion Course plays as a par 70 and measures 7,322 yards in length.   It is one of the most difficult par 70 courses on the PGA TOUR and The Bear Trap (holes 15, 16 & 17) is a very daunting task, especially over the weekend for anyone in contention.  Damage control is probably the most important thing on these holes because almost everyone runs into some kind of trouble there.  This course ultimately requires accuracy off of the tee and a solid tee to green game.  The patient golfers that also have a little bit of experience under pressure are generally the ones in contention over the weekend.
