The Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off the 2019 portion of the PGA TOUR season in Maui, Hawaii.  This limited-field event with no cut only features winners from the PGA TOUR’s previous calendar year.  The Plantation Course at Kapalua is the regular host and will play as the only par 73 on the PGA TOUR.  It has been lengthened a little bit since last year and now measures 7,518 yards.  The wide fairways should present plenty of scoring opportunities along with the extra Par 4.  The golfers who can control their ball flight in the windier conditions during the opening rounds should get off to a fast start and prove to be difficult to chase down over the weekend.  Typically the Plantation Course rewards big hitters, but as Jordan Spieth, Zach Johnson and even Steve Stricker have all shown, winning here does not always require length off of the tee.  A hot putter over four rounds will absolutely be necessary to win here though, so those showing little rust with their short game should be in contention come Sunday.  Finally, the latest weather forecast for Maui, Hawaii can be found here.
