The Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, Michigan makes its debut as a brand-new PGA TOUR event this week. The Donald Ross designed Detroit Golf Club will serve as host and play as a stock par 72 that measures 7,334 yards in length. Although the overall course length is shorter by typical PGA TOUR standards, the par-5 fourth hole can extend up to 635 yards. That makes it one of longest holes on the PGA TOUR. The Detroit Golf Club should allow for all different types of golfers to find success here although the longer hitters that can reach the four par-5s in two will have an advantage. Overall, golfers who keep their ball in play and set up accurate approach shots will likely be in the mix, but those who also get hot with their putter on the fast Poa greens will be the ones threatening to win.
