Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Before I breakdown the 50th edition of the RBC Heritage the 132-man field that will tee it up in Hilton Head, South Carolina, be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  There will be 150 total entries this week for the event immediately following Masters so be sure to get yours in right away as it will surely fill.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI without putting too much at risk with your bankroll.  Furthermore, FanDuel has been running decent contest sizes and hopefully they will continue to grow with more interest because loyal readers of this column know that I have a pretty decent track record of identifying quality player pools that gives Team FGI a significant advantage over the competition.  This week should be no different for the RBC Heritage.

With Augusta National Golf Club in the rear mirror, our attention now shifts to Harbour Town Golf Links that hosts the RBC Heritage.  Unfortunately, many of the world’s best golfers decide to take a break after the Masters with only Dustin Johnson ranked inside the top 10 of the OWGR playing this week.  Plenty of talented golfers are here though and the ones with a solid overall game that can hit the ball straight and accurate will be the ones worth targeting.  Experience at Harbour Town also appears to matter because many golfers regularly find success here regardless of their form coming in.

Harbour Town Golf Links is a par 36-35=71 measuring 7,099 yards in length.  Accuracy off of the tee is usually a requirement to contend here along with approach shots landing close to the pin.  Scrambling will also be necessary to stay in the mix if there is a missed GIR.  Weather often plays a role as well so the golfers who can handle themselves in windy conditions will have an advantage.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for Harbour Town Golf Links.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the RBC Heritage provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 30%

                Key Stats: 30%

                Vegas: 10%

                Course History: 30%

FGI PGA Interactive Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 25%

                SGP: 20%

                DA: 10%

                PROX: 10%

                SPROX: 10%

                PAR4: 10%
