Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI and others within our community.  FanDuel also has decent prize pools for the RBC Canadian Open so be sure to check out their contest lobby as well.

The Glen Abbey Golf Club will host the RBC Canadian Open for the last time before the tournament shifts to the week prior to the U.S. Open next year.  It is a stock par 72 that measures 7,253 yards in length and usually has no problem yielding plenty of birdies and eagles.  Previous leaderboards of the RBC Canadian Open show that any type of golfer can go well here, however the wider fairways allow big hitters to open up more and power their way into contention.  Overall, golfers with an accurate approach game will likely play well this week, but those who are also good with their putter and keeping pace will be the ones threatening to win.  Finally, the current weather forecast for Oakville, Ontario, Canada calls for a decent chance of thunderstorms on Thursday with partly cloudy conditions the rest of the tournament.  Lighter winds are expected Thursday morning before they pick in the afternoon so there is a potential advantage for golfers teeing off early Thursday morning.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the golfers with solid Recent Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely at Glen Abbey Golf Club.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weightings I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weightings for the RBC Canadian Open provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights:

                Recent Form: 40%

                Key Stats: 30%

                Vegas: 10%

                Course History: 20%

FGI PGA Interactive Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 25%

                SGP: 20%

                DD: 7.5%

                DA: 7.5%

                PROX: 10%

                SPROX: 10%

                BOB%: 20%
