Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI and others within our community.  FanDuel also has decent prize pools for the John Deere Classic so be sure to check out their contest lobby as well.

The John Deere Classic is the regular PGA TOUR warm-up event before the Open Championship and TPC Deere Run continues to serve as its host.  TPC Deere Run is a very scoreable par 71 course that measures 7,286 yards in length.  The previous leaderboards of this event show that any type of golfer can go well here, however it has typically been the more strategic golfer that wins.  Overall, golfers that hit the generous fairways and are precise with their approach shots typically go well here.  However, this event is a birdiefest so those who are also hot with their putter will be the ones threatening to win.  Finally, the current weather forecast for Silvis, Illinois calls for clear conditions on Thursday and Friday with no more than 10 mph winds throughout the tournament.  There is a chance of a thunderstorm on Sunday.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the golfers with solid Recent Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for TPC Deere Run.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weightings I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weightings for the John Deere Classic provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights:

                Recent Form: 35%

                Key Stats: 35%

                Vegas: 10%

                Course History: 20%

FGI PGA Interactive Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 20%

                SGOTT: 5%

                SGP: 30%

                DA: 5%

                PROX: 10%

                SPROX: 10%

                BOB%: 20%
