The John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois is the regular PGA TOUR warm-up event before The Open Championship and TPC Deere Run continues to serve as its host.  TPC Deere Run is a very scoreable par 71 course that measures 7,268 yards in length.  The previous leaderboards of this event show that any type of golfer can go well here, but it is typically the strategic golfer that wins.  Hitting the generous fairways and precise iron play are the prerequisites for success here.  A hot putter will also be required for any golfer that wants to be a threat to win though.  That is because 20+ birdies will probably be necessary to get the job done in another Upper Midwest birdie-fest.
