The Genesis Open wraps up the West Coast Swing and it is one of the more prestigious events on the PGA TOUR that usually attracts a high-end field.  This year is no different as Tiger Woods along with 13 additional top 20 golfers in world headline the event.  The Riviera Country Club is a classical course that first hosted this event 90 years ago and now has hosted 56 times in total.  Often referred to as Hogan’s Alley, the Riviera Country Club plays as a par 71 measuring at 7,322 yards in length.  The 315-yard 10th hole is the ultimate risk/reward drivable par 4.  An eagle to a triple bogey is in play there.  The par 3 6th hole is also interesting because it features a bunker in the middle of the green.  Overall, this historic golf course is one of the more challenging ones these golfers will play on all year.  Trees line the tight fairways so golfers will need to keep their ball in play in order to set up a quality second shot if they want to put themselves in position for scoring opportunities.  Big hitters typically go well here for the most part, but so do quality ball strikers that come with a tactical game plan.  Course experience at Riviera Country Club is very beneficial as many of the most recent winners have made multiple appearances in this event before finally getting the job done.
