Charles Schwab Challenge Preview:

The PGA TOUR is set to return to action this week after a 90-day absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Charles Schwab Challenge played at the friendly confines of the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas will be first up followed by the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links and the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.  This year the Charles Schwab Challenge will have one of its strongest fields ever as many of the world’s top golfers are eager to return to competition for the first time since the untimely cancellation of THE PLAYERS Championship.  Recent editions of the Charles Schwab Challenge include the Fort Worth Invitational (no title sponsor), Dean & Deluca Invitational and Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.  The Colonial Country Club has remained a constant though ever since the inaugural edition in 1946.  It is a classical, tree-lined layout that plays as a par 70 measuring at 7,209 yards.  The Colonial Country Club rewards golfers with a solid tee-to-green game and experience playing here typically matters.  Overall, golfers with a solid approach game will likely play well this week, but the ones able to land the ball close to the pin and sink putts will be the ones threatening to win.
