The PGA TOUR wrapped up the Hawaiian portion of the 2018 schedule where Patton Kizzire outlasted James Hahn with a par on the sixth hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the Sony Open in Hawaii.  This was Patton Kizzire’s second win already this season, adding to his maiden victory at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba last fall.  He is now your current FedExCup leader heading into the CareerBuilder Challenge this week in La Quinta, California.  Three courses will be used at this week’s CareerBuilder Challenge and the cut will be made after the third round.  Golfers will also have a pro-am partner joining their group for the first three rounds.  Since the 2016 overhaul of this event, the Stadium Course, the Nicklaus Tournament Course and the nearby La Quinta CC all share host duties, with the final round being played at the Stadium Course.  There usually is a lot of scoring in this event so predicting a winner will be difficult, however identifying a player pool capable of a strong fantasy performance should not be.

The Stadium Course will take up 36 holes of the CareerBuilder Challenge so that will be the primary course to put emphasis on.  It is a Pete Dye designed course played as a par 72 measuring at 7,133 yards and reminds many of another Pete Dye design, TPC Sawgrass.  This is mainly because of the island green on the par 3 17th Hole which typically leads to fantastic finishes.  Golfers with a well-rounded game that have shown previous success the past couple of years here in addition to any similar success at comparable courses will be the ones best to target.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for the Stadium Course.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the CareerBuilder Challenge provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:
