Already a strong candidate for ROY, Wes Bryan all but locked that up last week with his first PGA Tour win in his RBC Heritage debut.  I think it is important to reflect on what happened the week before because it can give us a better idea on what to expect in future events.   Specifically, we saw a field where no golfer within the Top 15 of the OWGR was present which then allowed for more variance to occur.  There were many golfers in contention on Sunday and it was ultimately the South Carolina native that took home the top prize.  This week at the Valero Texas Open we have a similar scenario where the world’s best golfers are once again on hiatus but it is a much different course than the one we saw at Harbour Town.  Once again, I believe Course History will help us out in finding the best golfers to make our FanDuel rosters this week.

Overall FanDuel Strategy for the Valero Texas Open:  With no clear-cut favorite, pricing is fair once again this week.   We will use one set of optimal Overall weights in the FGI PGA Model when selecting golfers for Rd 1-2 and 3-4.  For Rd 3-4 golfers, we want the top end guys with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats match up nicely for this course.  Golfers who have finished well here before is also important.  For Rd 1-2 golfers, we need to find some value plays as well as some salary relief options so we can get the best golfers for Rd 3-4.  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the Valero Texas Open courtesy of our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics (@FGMetrics on Twitter):

FGI PGA Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 25%

                Key Stats: 30%

                Vegas: 20%

                Course History: 25%

FGI PGA Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 25%

                SGP: 20%

                P175-200: 10%

                PAR5: 10%

                BOB%: 20%

                SCRAM: 15%
