The year’s 5th major is here, or otherwise known as THE PLAYERS Championship.  This event brings the world’s best golfers together and this year they will be seeing some updates to TPC Sawgrass in Ponta Verde Beach, Florida since Jason Day won this event last year.  The greens have been replaced and there will be a few different hole locations that the players will need to adjust to.  In terms of DFS Golf over at FanDuel, we have some pricing opportunities to exploit with both our Rd 1-2 and Rd 3-4 golfers.  Whenever we have a stacked field, certain golfers are going to be in the salary ranges we are not accustomed to seeing them in.  The FGI PGA Model this week does an excellent job of identifying these golfers that will ultimately help us build winning lineups.

Overall FanDuel Strategy for THE PLAYERS Championship:  With a stacked field this week, we will see some really good prices for a lot of golfers much like we did with the Masters.  DJ is the favorite and but he has not had a lot of success at TPC Sawgrass in eight tries.  In fact, this event in general is difficult to pick a winner so I think it is in our best interest to not go too top heavy with our Rd 3-4 golfers.  Course History is also very up and down for a lot of golfers this week.  My DFS Golf instincts tell me to not over emphasize that and really focus on the golfers who are coming into this event with very good Current Form and the Key Stats necessary to find success this week.  Much like previous weeks, we will use one set of optimal Overall weights in the FGI PGA Model when selecting golfers for Rd 1-2 and 3-4.  For Rd 3-4 golfers, we want exposure to the top end guys with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats match up nicely for this course.  A balanced emphasis on Vegas and Course History I think will normalize things a bit with the Course History metric.  For Rd 1-2 golfers, we need to find some value plays as well as some salary relief options so we can get the best golfers for Rd 3-4.  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for THE PLAYERS Championship courtesy of our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics (@FGMetrics on Twitter):
