The Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off the 2018 portion of the PGA TOUR season and already FanDuel has us scratching our heads.  For some reason they have decided to deploy a new roster format with now only 6 golfers in a lineup.  This is exactly what DraftKings has so it will be interesting to see what this does for their PGA DFS product.  Needless to say that FanDuel has not had the smoothest of launches with PGA DFS and we are seeing smaller GPP prize pools because of that.  I personally felt that the 8 golfer roster format separated FanDuel from the rest of the market and overall enhanced the DFS Golf experience with having more golfers in play along with their unique scoring system.  The good news for FGI subscribers though is that we have already mastered the 6 golfer roster format so this transition over on FanDuel should be seamless.  My initial impression of the pricing for the Sentry Tournament of Champions is that they are relatively soft and building a potent lineup came together quite easily.  With it also being a no cut event, stacking two or even THREE of the top golfers is definitely a viable approach.

The Plantation Course at Kapalua will play as a par 73 measuring 7,452 yards.  There should be plenty of scoring opportunities with the four Par 5s and even more so for the golfers who can control their ball flight in windy conditions.  Typically the Plantation Course at Kapalua rewards big hitters but as Jordan Spieth, Zach Johnson and even Steve Stricker have all shown, winning here does not always require length off of the tee.  A hot putter will no doubt be necessary to win here though so those showing little rust with their short game should be in contention come Sunday.
