Welcome back PGA DFS gamers!  I hope you enjoyed the PGA TOUR “offseason” and are ready to begin the 2017-2018 season with me and the rest of us here at Fantasy Golf Insider.  For most of us here at FGI, last year’s PGA TOUR Fall Season treated us kindly and helped build bankroll for the entire season.  This will also be FanDuel’s first full season with their PGA DFS product and I can already tell that they are laying this field up for us this week.  I am also seeing relatively small contests over there so there is no reason to splurge on bankroll over there right now.  This is because there is this little thing call the NFL going on as well and the NFL will always be king when it comes to DFS sports.  Hopefully you are taking advantage of the FREE NFL content that the team here at FGI is providing for premium subscribers during the Fall Season of the PGA TOUR.  I personally have found success with building my DFS bankroll up with a nice blend of NFL and PGA DFS during these next few months.  I am confident that with the updated tools and expert analysis FGI premium subscribers get that you should also be able to do the same.

The 2017-2018 PGA TOUR season starts off once again with the Safeway Open and the Silverado Resort and Spa North in Napa, California will play host for the third consecutive year.  This is great for us gamers because three years of Course History can tell us a lot about how certain golfers approach this event to begin their schedule.  The formula for success here is pretty simple…  Keep the ball in play, make a bunch of birdies and scramble to save par when necessary.  Last year’s winner, Brendan Steele, won with a total score of 18 under par and the cutline was -3.  It is safe to say that Birdie or Better Percentage will be a Key Stat we will be focusing on this week.

The FGI PGA Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for the Silverado Resort and Spa North.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the Safeway Open provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:
