The Albatross absolutely crushed it last week with all 15 picks making the cut but most importantly, identifying the winner in Xander Schauffele and several other top finishers.  I heard from several of you that had really nice GPP weeks and just overall positive bankroll building weeks.  Even though it is perfectly fine to revel in our success, it is also important to recognize that things can change quickly in DFS Golf.  That is why it is wise to scale back the bankroll for events just before a major because it is impossible to predict what kind of mindset certain golfers will be in no matter what the data says.  We saw this a few weeks ago with Rickie Fowler where he was fresh off of a T2 finish at the Memorial Tournament only to miss the cut at the St. Jude Classic.  He would then go on to finish T5 at the U.S. Open the following week.  I do not think this week’s favorite, Daniel Berger, is going to miss the cut but it is important to note that he and a few other notable golfers already have their ticket punched for The Open and will have to travel overseas for that.  Overall, the John Deere Classic presents another difficult challenge for us because the field is even less desirable than last week.  There are going to be a few golfers we would not normally consider for our lineups but will have to this week due to the lack of talent.

TPC Deere Run has been hosting the John Deere Classic since 2000 and there is no secret about this course.  It is a short Par 71 where making par is sometimes considered a bad thing.  Low scores each round will be necessary to contend and overall this course rewards the more strategic golfer with bombers not having much of an advantage.  Golfers who hole the most putts, specifically from longer ranges, will be the ones competing for the top honors on Sunday.

As always, the FGI PGA Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for this course.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the John Deere Classic provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 30%

                Key Stats: 35%

                Vegas: 15%

                Course History: 20%

FGI PGA Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 30%

                SGP: 20%

                DA: 10%

                P150-175: 10%
