The Quicken Loans National was another successful week for the Albatross.  Kyle Stanley, a regular write-up of this column, finally broke through and won for the first time since 2012.  Rickie Fowler paid off his high salary after firing a 65 on Sunday and finished with a T3.  Marc Leishman and David Lingmerth each had Top 5 finishes and Bill Haas, Patrick Reed, Kevin Streelman, Danny Lee and Kevin Na rounded out the Top 25 finishers.  Tony Finau, Russel Henley and Xander Schauffele all made the cut and had respectable fantasy scoring weeks too.  Brendan Steele and Kevin Chappell were the biggest disappointments with baffling missed cuts that caused a lot of otherwise great lineups from reaching their full potential.  Graham DeLaet’s missed cut was not as shocking because he will always be a golfer with adequate upside when his ball striking game is working.  Unfortunately, the other aspects of his game are just not good enough to make up for it when it is not.  Our attention now shifts to the Greenbrier Classic where another soft field awaits us.  Last year this event was canceled due to extreme flooding in the area of White Sulphur Springs, WV.  Nonetheless, there is still sufficient course history to go off of for the golfers in the field this week.

The Old White TPC has been fully restored and similar playing conditions should be expected from the previous five years here.  The wider fairways will give golfers with a little more length off of the tee a slight advantage.  But it will be approach shots hitting the greens and holing the right number of putts that will be the formula for success here.  Birdie or Better % is going to be a key stat to target because the winning score will probably be between -13 and -16.

As always, the FGI PGA Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for this course.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  As I previously mentioned, the 2016 Greenbrier Classic was washed out so tuning down Course History slightly seems logical.  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the Greenbrier Classic provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 35%

                Key Stats: 35%

                Vegas: 15%

FGI PGA Model Key Stats weights:
