The PGA TOUR returns stateside and I am personally very happy about that.  Not only do we get to go back to our regular DFS Golf routine but we also have an event with a cut after the second round.  Some may say that they prefer the no-cut events but not me.  I will take any opportunity to gain a possible advantage over the competition and an event with a cut is one of them.  Simply put, the tools and resources Fantasy Golf Insider has available are second to none within the DFS Golf industry and it is important to take full advantage of them to gain this advantage.  This week there is some serious mispricing going on over on FanDuel for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and it is important that these golfers are properly identified and make your player pool for building lineups this week.  With many of the world’s best golfers still taking some time off or competing over on the European Tour as that schedule winds down, the strength of field for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is average.  A few of the top ranked golfers here though are hoping to take advantage of this opportunity in a weaker field and notch another win while others are hungry to get their first one.  There are also some golfers from the Web.com Tour last season that are still in really good form and FanDuel’s pricing algorithm does not recognize that yet.  Lastly, there is a lot of course history for the TPC Summerlin so it will be smart to look at what type of golfer has found success here.

The TPC Summerlin is a par 71 measuring in at 7,255 yards and will not be too difficult of a course for many of these golfers this week.  This will be the ninth consecutive year hosting this event as a par 71 course and twenty-sixth overall so there is plenty of course history for us to work off of.  Both strategic golfers and big hitters have performed well here in the past but it is the ones with superb ball striking skills that seem to rise to the top.  Golfers should see favorable conditions all four rounds with winds not expected to exceed 18 mph so a winning score around 20 under par should be in order again.

The FGI PGA Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for the TPC Summerlin.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 30%

                Key Stats: 35%

                Vegas: 15%

                Course History: 20%

FGI PGA Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 30%

                SGP: 20%

                DA: 5%

                PROX: 15%

                SPROX: 5%

                PAR5: 5%

                BOB%: 20%
