The FedExCup Playoffs resume after a week off and the Conway Farms GC will once again host the BMW Championship.  The top 70 golfers in FedExCup points are in the field this week and they will tee it up for four rounds in Lake Forrest, Illinois for a chance to make the final cut of 30 for the TOUR Championship next week.  Sunday should provide plenty of entertainment because the golfers who are on the cutline will be battling it out until the very end because making the final 30 is a tremendous accomplishment.  Typically in no cut events for DFS Golf, deploying a “Stars and Scrubs” approach has the most merit and I do not see why that would be any different this week.  FanDuel has much more generous pricing at the bottom and in an event like the BMW Championship, we know that every golfer is going to give their best performance.  The last two events of the FedExCup Playoffs should give us a good idea on whose game has been trending up and there are a few in particular that are great fits for this course.

This will be the third time that the Conway Farms GC has hosted the BMW Championship and will play as a Par 71 at 7,198 yards.  With the three Par 5’s playing at 585 yards or greater, most of the scoring will be on the shorter Par 4’s this week.  Looking back at the 2013 leaderboard, Zach Johnson won this event with accuracy off of the tee and a deadly approach game.  It should also be noted that Jim Furyk set the course record on day two with a score of 59 so overall, it appears that the Conway Farms GC caters to the more accurate golfer.  However in 2015, Jason Day was able to win with distance off of the tee and Par 5 Scoring.  All aspects of his Tee-to-Green game were working that week and that is what I expect from the winner this week as well.  For most golfers this week though, approach shots getting as close to the flags as possible will be the key to scoring.

As always, the FGI PGA Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for the Conway Farms GC.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the BMW Championship provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 30%

                Key Stats: 35%
