The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings.  Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring.  Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.

Great importance is put on birdies and eagles and conversely very little is put on bogeys or worse for accumulating fantasy points.  Due to this fact, Birdie or Better % is the primary Key Stat when analyzing golfers.  Par 3, 4, 5 Scoring will also be considered especially when previous success on a specific course had a high correlation to one or more of those Key Stats.

Rounds 1 & 2 Recap for the Sentry Tournament of Champions:

The first round featured some higher than normal scores for the Plantation Course at Kapalua due to the trade wind that for the most part has not affected this tournament in recent years.  Marc Leishman however embraces windy conditions and was the first round leader after shooting a 6-under 67.  Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler also had solid first rounds with scores of 69.  Defending champ Justin Thomas struggled a little bit but was able to birdie two of his last three holes and finish with a 2-under 71.  His playing partner in the final group and good buddy Jordan Spieth, was not as lucky.  The 2016 winner of this event had never shot over par in his previous three trips to Kapalua.  He would later rebound in Round 2…

Jordan Spieth did not waste much time getting back into contention on Friday.  He made the necessary adjustments to the trade wind that severely hampered his game in the first round and shot a 7-under 66 that featured an eagle on Hole 9.  DJ continued his strong play while Justin Thomas could not.  DJ sits only one shot off the lead while Justin Thomas fell ten back.  Brian Harmon was able to keep pace with Marc Leishman and now both have a share of the lead in the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
