The Weekend Golf format is very different from the Classic Golf format and it is important to know how to build winning lineups and attack these contests over on DraftKings. Simply put, Weekend Golf is all about scoring. Fantasy points for finishing positions are no longer awarded so selecting the right golfers for your lineup will require the right mix of golfers who started off well and others who might just be finding their form for a solid weekend run.

Great importance is put on birdies and eagles and conversely very little is put on bogeys or worse for accumulating fantasy points. Due to this fact, Birdie or Better % is the primary Key Stat when analyzing golfers. Par 3, 4, 5 Scoring will also be considered especially when previous success on a specific course had a high correlation to one or more of those Key Stats.

Rounds 1 & 2 Recap for OHL Classic at Mayakoba:

In Round 1 Patton Kizzire carried over his great finish at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open where he closed with a 64. On Thursday he came out firing and drained six straight birdies and finished with a career-low 9-under 62. Rickie Fowler showed little rust after taking five weeks off and he also took advantage of the nicer conditions during the morning and shot an impressive opening round 65. Pat Perez, who is trying to defend his title, opened with a 67 but struggled on Friday shooting 3-over-par 74 that featured a triple bogey on the first hole. His chances of going back-to-back at OHL Classic at Mayakoba are slim but he makes for a great Weekend Golf play since he is a very capable scorer. Si Woo Kim appears to finally be healthy again after shooting consecutive rounds of 67 that featured an eagle in Round 1 and a bogey-free Round 2. He too makes for an intriguing Weekend Golf play because he is extremely talented and could go on a scoring run over the final two rounds.

Round 2 was temporarily suspended due to lightning and then was ultimately suspended for the day due to darkness. Patrick Rodgers was able to sink four straight birdies and take the lead before play was stopped though. A very popular Classic Golf play in Luke List was hovering around the cutline until he had a triple bogey on the first hole but unlike Pat Perez, he was not able to recover and will have the rest of the weekend off in lovely Playa del Carmen. Jonathan Byrd had his fifth ace of his PGA TOUR career in the second round when he aced the 151-yard eighth hole. A previous winner here in Charley Hoffman will also have some spare time over the weekend as he too failed to make the cut.
