Workday Charity Open Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:
Looking to bounce back after his first missed cut as a professional, Collin Morikawa responded with authority during the opening rounds of the Workday Charity Open. After firing a 7-under 65 on Thursday he backed that up with a 6-under 66 on Friday. Morikawa will enter the weekend with a three-shot lead over Justin Thomas and Kevin Streelman. Thomas is the only golfer to play bogey free golf at Muirfield Village Golf Club so far while Streelman remains hot after his solo 2nd place finish at the Travelers Championship last time out. Both will have their work cut out for them as they will try to chase down Morikawa. Hideki Matsuyama and Sam Burns both shot nine under par during the opening rounds and currently sit T4 on the Workday Charity Open leaderboard. Viktor Hovland continues to display an impressive tee-to-green game and now his putting is heating up at Muirfield Village Golf Club. The Norwegian phenom currently sits with Rory Sabbatini in tie for sixth place. All signs point to an entertaining finish at the Workday Charity Open as play is set to resume Saturday morning.
