Stat Boy’s Weekend Warriors – WGC – Workday Championship

By Erik Dantoft

WGC – Workday Championship Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:

Coming off a win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and then T38 finish last week at The Genesis Invitational, Brooks Koepka kept his good form going during the opening rounds of the WGC – Workday Championship when he shot a round one 5-under 67 and followed that up with a 6-under 66 in round two.  Koepka will enter the weekend as the solo leader at The Concession Golf Club.  Tony Finau shook off his playoff loss last week at The Genesis Invitational and kept his great form going in Bradenton, Florida when he shot a total of 9-under par on Thursday and Friday.  He sits T5 on the leaderboard after two rounds of play.  Collin Morikawa was also coming in off some momentum from The Genesis Invitational and showed off his elite iron game during the first two rounds at The Concession Golf Club.  He is joined by Billy Horschel and Cameron Smith at T2 on the WGC – Workday Championship leaderboard heading into the weekend.  Webb Simpson continues to impress on the golf course after firing 9-under par thus far.  He is joins Tony Finau and Matthew Fitzpatrick at T5 after 36 holes in Bradenton, Florida.  Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, Tyrrell Hatton and Daniel Berger have not lived up to expectations thus far and will look to pick it up over the weekend at The Concession Golf Club.  The weather in Bradenton, Florida is expected to remain sunny and calm over Saturday and Sunday and with a bunched-up leaderboard behind Brooks Koepka, an exciting conclusion at the WGC – Workday Championship should be in order.
