Stat Boy’s Weekend Warriors – Waste Management Phoenix Open

Waste Management Phoenix Open Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:

After opening 2021 with a T5 finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and then following that up with a T2 finish last week at the Farmers Insurance Open, Xander Schauffele had few difficulties getting around at the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale during the opening rounds of the Waste Management Phoenix Open when he shot a round one 5-under 66 and followed that up with a scorching 7-under 64 in round two.  Schauffele will enter the weekend as the solo leader in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Scottie Scheffler came into the Waste Management Phoenix Open off back-to-back missed cuts but was able to rediscover his good form from his T13 finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions at the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale when he shot a total of 10-under par on Thursday and Friday.  He sits at T4 on the leaderboard after two rounds of play.  Keegan Bradley was also coming off a couple of missed cuts to begin his 2021 calendar year but showed off his elite ball striking capabilities during the first two rounds at the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale.  He is joined by Steve Stricker at T2 on the Waste Management Phoenix Open leaderboard heading into the weekend.  Sam Burns continues to impress on the golf course after firing 10-under par thus far.  He joins Scottie Scheffler at T4 along with Kyoung-Hoon Lee after 36 holes in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Daniel Berger, Harris English, Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland, and Jason Day all made too many mistakes to get a weekend tee time at the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale.  The weather in Scottsdale, Arizona should continue to produce low scores over the weekend and with a bunched-up leaderboard, an exciting conclusion at the Waste Management Phoenix Open should be in order.

Round 1 Scoring Avg:  70.364

Round 2 Scoring Avg:  69.136
