Stat Boy’s Weekend Warriors – Sony Open in Hawaii

Sony Open in Hawaii Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:
Coming off a T29 finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions last week, Nick Taylor had little problems getting around in Honolulu, Hawaii during the opening rounds of the Sony Open in Hawaii when he shot a round one 4-under 66 and followed that up with blistering a 8-under 62 in round two. Taylor will enter the weekend as the solo leader at Waialae Country Club. After shaking off the rust at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Webb Simpson continued his great form Thursday and Friday at the Sony Open in Hawaii when he shot a total of 10-under par. He sits at T2 on the leaderboard after two rounds of play. Russell Henley ended his 2020 calendar year with an unusual missed cut at the Mayakoba Golf Classic but showed little rust during the first two rounds at Waialae Country Club. He is a previous winner of this event and joins Simpson at T2 after 36 holes at the Sony Open in Hawaii heading into the weekend. Collin Morikawa continues to impress on the golf course after firing 9-under par thus far. He is joined by Charley Hoffman, Marc Leishman, Joaquin Niemann, Hideki Matsuyama, Peter Malnati, Billy Horschel and Brendan Steele at T7 on the Sony Open in Hawaii leaderboard. Abraham Ancer shot two rounds in the 60s at the Sony Open in Hawaii but was overall unable to sink enough putts to get a weekend tee time at Waialae Country Club. The weather in Honolulu, Hawaii should continue to produce low scores over the weekend and with another bunched-up leaderboard, an exciting conclusion at the Sony Open in Hawaii should be in the works.
