Rocket Mortgage Classic Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend:

Joaquin Niemann showed great form at the Rocket Mortgage Classic during the opening rounds when he shot a round one 7-under 65 and followed that up with a 3-under 69 in round two.  Niemann will enter the weekend tied with Tom Lewis as the 36-hole leader at Detroit Golf Club with one stroke advantages.  Chris Kirk has bounced back nicely after a missed cut at the Travelers Championship last week when he shot a total of 9-under par on Thursday and Friday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.  He is currently T3 on the leaderboard after two rounds of play in Detroit, Michigan.  Apparently, a T5 finish at the Travelers Championship last week was exactly what Kevin Kisner needed to really get going as he showed off his typical outstanding tee-to-green game during the first two rounds at Detroit Golf Club.  Kisner will enter the weekend T6 on the leaderboard and is one of the betting favorites to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic.  Max Homa also impressed on the golf course after he also fired 9-under par thus far and joins Chris Kirk along Troy Merritt at T3 on the Rocket Mortgage Classic leaderboard heading into the weekend.  Bryson DeChambeau, Webb Simpson, Hideki Matsuyama (COVID-19), Gary Woodland, Emiliano Grillo and Doc Redman all made too many mistakes and will not get a weekend tee time at Detroit Golf Club.  The weather in Detroit, Michigan is expected to remain pleasant over the weekend so hopefully an exciting conclusion with plenty of Weekend Golf scoring is on the way.
